LANGUAGE SERVICES

TERMS AND CONDITIONS

SERVICES:

Language Services, provided under TransLater Language, consists of Business English language and conversation classes for Spanish professionals. This program reinforces English proficiency and grammar through a customized curriculum of content-based learning resources. CLASS MATERIALS: Content-based learning resources include articles, videos, audio and other media from a variety of online and offline sources. Although the program is mostly paperless, students are responsible for printing any materials. Students are also responsible for purchasing any additional resources such as grammar study books, if desired. The language instructor only provides supplemental grammar exercises and materials in the form of worksheets, which are available upon request.

COURSES:
  • The 2019-2020 academic course for TransLater Language starts on Monday, September 16th, 2019 and ends on Monday, June 30th, 2020. Students enrolled in Language Services are expected to attend classes for the entire duration of the course.
  • Summer classes start on Wednesday, July 1st and end on Friday, July 31st. Students interested in continuing classes for the month of July must register and pay for summer classes by Monday, July 6th, 2020.
PUBLIC HOLIDAYS:

TransLater Language only observes nationally recognized holidays for the Community of Madrid. Below is a list of all national and regional holidays being observed in the Community of Madrid for the 2019-2020 academic school year. As classes are only given Monday through Friday, only holidays that occur during this time are listed. Classes may still be scheduled on some of these days at the student’s request. Any regularly scheduled classes falling on any of these dates can be rescheduled.

    • Friday, November 1st, 2019 (All Saints´Day)
    • Friday, December 6th, 2019 (Constitution Day)
    • Monday, December 23rd, 2019 (Immaculate Conception)
    • Monday, December 23rd, 2019 – Tuesday, January 7th,  2020 (Christmas Holidays)
    • Friday, April 3rd, 2020 – Monday, April 13th, 2020 (Easter Holidays)
    • Friday, May 1st, 2019 (Labor Day)
CLASS SCHEDULES:
  • Available time slots for classes, both onsite and online, only occur on Monday through Friday from 9:00 to 13:00. Due to travel or when a preceding class ends, students should understand that a 5-10 minute class start time delay is possible. All classes include 55 minutes of active instruction time. The last 5 minutes are reserved to conclude the lesson and assign homework, etc.
  • Dates for individual classes will no longer be included on invoices. This information will now be available in the main body of emails sent out with the attached invoices for the month. It is the student’s responsibility to inform TransLater Language of any class schedule change request. Once the program starts classes will follow the fixed schedule (same number of classes on the same day(s) each week ) agreed upon for the duration of the program unless otherwise requested.
  • Requests to change the day or time of a class must be made with no less than 24-hours’ notice in order to be considered. Requests to re-arrange a class schedule are subject to approval by the language instructor and may be denied. IMPORTANT: Any classes missed due to the inability to reschedule are non-refundable.
PAYMENT TERMS:

Under Spanish Tax law, no IVA is charged when invoicing private language students. On the other hand, companies (including students who choose to invoice through a company) are charged IRPF.  All classes, onsite or online, are pre-paid in full and are invoiced on a monthly basis. Payment must be paid by bank transfer to TransLater Language. Cash will not be accepted. Invoices will be provided during the program between the 1st and 5th day of the month. Payment is due by the 5th of every month. 100% percent of the balance must be paid by this date. Bank transfer confirmation must be sent via email to info@translater.es  by this date as proof of payment.

CLASS CANCELLATION POLICY:

Any classes canceled on the part of the language instructor will ALWAYS be recouped, as classes are pre-paid. IMPORTANT: Students are allowed to recover only ONE class per month. Requests for cancellation of a class must be texted to 603 83 22 66 or emailed to info@translater.es with at least 24-hours’ notice.  Any classes canceled within 24-hours are non-refundable, with few exceptions. Reason(s) for cancellation requests must be included in the correspondence. Such requests will be reviewed on a case by case basis but, typically, cancellation due to anything other than sickness, accident or emergency travel will not be accepted. Non-adherence to this class cancellation policy will result in termination of services.
